What this is
This is the New Transfer page under the Transfer module in the merchant dashboard (page title New Transfer). It’s a full-screen, step-by-step form used to make an outbound payment/remittance. You open it from the transfer list page by clicking New Transfer in the top right, then work through selecting a recipient, entering an amount, adding details, and reviewing before submitting. Use it whenever you want to pay a recipient or make a cross-currency transfer. The flow follows a step indicator at the top, typically: (Payer →) Recipient → Amount → Details → Review, ending on a success page after you confirm and submit. The Payer step only appears for accounts with sub-account payment capability enabled — regular accounts start directly at Recipient.Steps
To make a transfer:- On the transfer list page, click New Transfer in the top right to open the form.
- (Payer, only shown for some accounts) Choose who is paying: I am payer (pay the recipient from your own account) or Payment on behalf of your sub-account (pay on behalf of an approved sub-account — search for and select the sub-account). Click Continue.
- Recipient: choose an existing recipient from the list; narrow it down with the top search box (Search by name, bank, or account…). If internal transfers are enabled, My own account entries (e.g. Card issuing, Payments) also appear above the list as payment targets. If there’s no suitable recipient yet, click Add new recipient to create one first. Click Continue.
- Amount: enter an amount and currency under You send / Amount. If the chosen currency differs from the recipient’s account currency, this automatically becomes a cross-currency transfer, showing Recipient gets and a live exchange rate below (the rate refreshes every 60 seconds; you can also refresh it manually). Click Continue.
- Details (additional information): select Payment Purpose (required, dropdown) and enter Payment Reference (required, appears on the recipient’s bank statement); you can optionally upload Attachments. Click Continue.
- Review (review & confirm): check all the details, then click Confirm Transfer. If your security settings have Create Transaction 2FA enabled, you’ll be asked to complete two-factor authentication here first.
- On successful submission, you land on Transfer submitted successfully, showing the amount sent, transaction ID, status, and estimated arrival. Click Make another transfer to continue, or Back to transfers to return to the list.

Edge cases and troubleshooting
- You don’t see a “Payer” step: this account doesn’t have sub-account payment capability enabled — the transfer starts directly at Recipient, meaning you pay from your own account. This is expected.
- The recipient you need isn’t in the list: click Add new recipient to create one first, then come back and select it.
- The selected recipient shows “Recipient needs updating”: due to regulatory requirements, you need to update additional information for this recipient before sending a payment — go update its details on the Recipients page, then come back to make the transfer.
- Continue is disabled after entering an amount: usually caused by insufficient available balance in the current currency (flagged Insufficient), or a currency/recipient limit or format restriction being triggered — bring the amount within the available balance and correct anything flagged before continuing.
- ” does not support decimal amounts”: this currency is handled in whole units — remove the decimal portion and re-enter.
- “UnionPay card payout cannot exceed 35,000 per transaction”: UnionPay card payouts have a per-transaction cap — split the payment or adjust the amount.
- Payment reference flagged with a format error: for some local payout scenarios, the reference only accepts letters, numbers, spaces, commas, and periods — remove other characters and resubmit.
- Cross-currency “quote expired”: exchange rate quotes are time-limited; click Get new quote to refresh the rate before confirming.
- Confirmation asks for two-factor authentication: your security settings have Create Transaction 2FA enabled — complete verification as prompted before it submits.
- Duplicate submission notice: this transfer has already been submitted — start a new transfer if you genuinely need to send another, to avoid a duplicate payout.
- Submitting past the cut-off time: payments submitted after 4:00 PM SGT are processed on the next business day.
- Wanting to cancel after submitting: once confirmed, a transfer cannot be cancelled or reversed — review carefully at the Review step before confirming.
Common questions (Q&A)
- Q: How do I make a transfer / send money? A: On the transfer list page, click New Transfer in the top right, then follow the steps to choose a recipient, enter an amount, add payment purpose and reference, and finally review and click Confirm Transfer to submit.
- Q: Where do I find New Transfer? A: It’s opened from the New Transfer button on the transfer list page — it isn’t a separate item in the left nav.
- Q: What steps does a transfer go through? A: (Payer →) Recipient → Amount → Details → Review, then a success page after confirming; the Payer step only appears for accounts with sub-account payment capability.
- Q: How do I pay someone new / the recipient isn’t in the list? A: At the Recipient step, click Add new recipient to create one first, then come back and select it.
- Q: Can I pay in a different currency / do a cross-currency transfer? A: Yes. When your chosen payment currency differs from the recipient’s account currency, it automatically becomes a cross-currency transfer, showing the recipient’s received amount and a live exchange rate.
- Q: Does the exchange rate change / how long is a quote valid? A: The cross-currency rate refreshes every 60 seconds and the final rate is applied at execution time; if the quote expires, click Get new quote to refresh before submitting.
- Q: Who pays the fees? What’s the difference between OUR and SHA? A: Only shown for SWIFT payouts: OUR means you pay all transfer fees, SHA means fees are shared with the recipient.
- Q: Are Payment Purpose and Payment Reference required? A: Yes, both are required. Payment Purpose is used for compliance records; Payment Reference appears on the recipient’s bank statement.
- Q: What can I attach, and how large? A: Supports PDF, JPEG, PNG, DOC, XLS, and similar formats; attachments are optional, and the per-file size limit is shown at upload time.
- Q: How long does a transfer take to arrive? A: Typically 1-2 business days after submission; payments submitted after 4:00 PM SGT are processed the next business day.
- Q: Why does confirming ask me for two-factor authentication? A: Because your security settings have Create Transaction 2FA enabled — the transfer submits once verification is complete.
- Q: Can I cancel a transfer after submitting? A: No — once confirmed, it cannot be cancelled or reversed, so review carefully at the Review step before submitting.
- Q: Can I pay on behalf of a sub-account? A: Accounts with sub-account payment capability can choose Payment on behalf of your sub-account at the Payer step, and must select an approved sub-account.
- Q: Can I pay many recipients at once in bulk? A: There is currently no bulk payment entry point in the dashboard — contact your account manager if you need bulk payouts.
