What this is
This is the Verify address flow page for an address under the Addresses page in the Crypto module of the merchant dashboard. It’s used to prove that you actually own (control) a saved crypto address. Only a verified address can be withdrawn to — so if you want to withdraw crypto to an address that hasn’t been verified yet, you need to complete verification here first. You can’t open this page directly from the left nav — it’s reached from an address’s action menu on the Addresses page. Verification offers two methods: Connect your wallet (sign once with MetaMask or WalletConnect for the address — instant) or Verify manually (send a small amount from your own wallet to UQPAY to prove ownership).Steps
Start verification:- Open Crypto → Addresses.
- Find the address to verify, and click the ”…” menu on its row.
- Click Verify address to enter the verification page. If this address already has a verification in progress or a previously failed attempt, the menu shows Continue verification (a verification transfer is in progress) or Retry verification (the last attempt didn’t succeed) instead.
- Select Connect your wallet (labeled Recommended) or Verify manually.
- Click Next.
- Choose MetaMask or WalletConnect.
- Click Connect and sign, and authorize the connection in the wallet pop-up.
- When the connected wallet address matches the address being verified, you’ll see Wallet connected & Address matched; then sign the verification message in your wallet to finish (the button changes to Sign to confirm).
- If the connected wallet doesn’t match the address being verified, you’ll see Address mismatch! with the Connected and Expected addresses listed — click Disconnect and try again to switch to the correct wallet.
- Choose coin: select the network and coin (prompt: “Select a coin from the list of supported options.”). Note the warning “Important: Verification deposits expire after 24 hours” — complete the transfer within 24 hours. Click Continue to transfer details.
- Make a transfer: the page shows the exact amount to send (“SEND THIS AMOUNT”), the receiving address (“TO YOUR UQPAY ADDRESS”, with a QR code), and the network (“THROUGH THIS NETWORK”). Go to your own wallet and transfer strictly using this amount, address, and network. When done, click I have made the transfer; to transfer later, click I will do it later.
- Wait for confirmation: you’ll land on the Verifying your address page — once the system receives your on-chain deposit, verification completes automatically, and you can check the status on the Addresses page anytime. Click Back to the Address Book to leave for now.

Edge cases and troubleshooting
- There’s no “Verify Address” entry in the left nav: this page has no standalone nav entry — it’s only reached from an address’s ”…” menu under Crypto > Addresses.
- An address’s ”…” menu has no verification option: the address is already verified (no further verification needed), or it isn’t a Personal-type address that requires verification. A verified address can be withdrawn from directly.
- The menu shows “Continue verification / Retry verification” instead of “Verify address”: Continue verification means there’s already a verification transfer in progress (opening it shows the amount and receiving address directly); Retry verification means the last attempt didn’t succeed and you can start over.
- You see “No Address Selected” when opening the page: no address to verify was passed in — go back to the address book and enter this flow from an address’s action menu again.
- The manual transfer never verifies / you see “Verification timed out”: check that the amount, receiving address, and network all match exactly, and that you completed it within 24 hours; if it has expired, click Verify again to start a new one. Sending to the wrong address or using the wrong network may result in lost funds.
- Connecting a wallet shows “Address mismatch”: the currently connected wallet isn’t the one holding the address you’re verifying — click Disconnect and try again and switch to the correct wallet.
- Only EVM networks support connect-and-sign: Tron, Bitcoin, and other non-EVM addresses currently only offer Verify manually.
- An unverified address can’t be withdrawn from: this is by design — address verification must be completed before withdrawal.
Common questions (Q&A)
- Q: How do I verify a crypto address? A: Go to Crypto > Addresses, click the ”…” menu on the address’s row and select Verify address, then choose Connect your wallet to sign, or Verify manually to send a small transfer.
- Q: Why do I need to verify an address? Can I skip it? A: Only verified addresses can be used to withdraw crypto; an unverified address can’t be used as a withdrawal destination.
- Q: How many verification methods are there, and which is faster? A: Two — connect wallet and sign (recommended, instant, no fees, only for addresses on EVM networks) and manual small transfer (works with all wallets, about 5-30 minutes on average, network fees apply).
- Q: How much do I need to send for manual verification? Will I lose that money? A: A small amount, about USD 1-5, with the exact figure given on the page; this amount is credited to your UQPAY balance — it isn’t lost.
- Q: Is there a time limit on the manual verification transfer? A: Yes — the verification deposit expires after 24 hours, so complete the transfer within 24 hours using the amount/address/network shown on the page.
- Q: I made the transfer, why hasn’t it verified yet? A: The system needs to wait for the on-chain deposit before confirming automatically; make sure the amount, receiving address, and network all match exactly. You can check the status on the Addresses page anytime.
- Q: What do I do if it says “Verification timed out”? A: It means your verification deposit couldn’t be found — double-check your transfer details, and if needed, click Verify again to start a new verification transfer.
- Q: What does “Address mismatch” mean when connecting a wallet? A: The wallet you connected isn’t the address you’re trying to verify — click Disconnect and try again and connect the wallet that holds that address.
- Q: My address is on Tron / Bitcoin — why do I only see manual verification? A: Connect-and-sign currently only supports addresses on EVM-compatible networks (such as Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon); use manual verification for other networks.
- Q: What does “Continue verification” in the menu mean? A: The address already has a verification transfer in progress — opening it shows the amount and receiving address to send directly, so you can finish without starting over.
- Q: Can I withdraw right after verification succeeds? A: Yes — the success page has a Withdraw crypto button to start a withdrawal directly, or you can withdraw from that address in the address book.
