What this is

This is the POS Devices page under Terminal in the Payment module of the merchant dashboard (left nav Terminal → top POS Devices tab). Merchants use this page to see the online/offline status, assigned location, hardware information (serial number, firmware version, IP address), and recent transactions for every POS device on the account, and to register new devices, filter by status/location/type, and export the device list. Use this page to check whether a specific card reader is online, which location it’s assigned to, whether it has recent transactions, or to register a new POS device.

Steps

Open and view the device list:
  1. In the left nav, click Terminal.
  2. Select the POS Devices tab at the top.
  3. The list shows all devices on the account by default; the status bar at the top shows Total / Online / Offline counts.
Filter and search:
  1. Status filter: check Online / Offline, multi-select supported.
  2. Location filter: check one or more locations.
  3. Type filter: check one or more device types.
  4. Search: search by device ID, label, or serial number.
  5. Active filters appear as tags under Filtered by; click the “x” on a tag to remove it, or click Clear all to clear everything.
View a single device’s details: click a row (or open the row’s menu → View details) to slide in the Device Details panel, which includes the device overview, hardware information, recent transactions, and activity log. Register a new device:
  1. Click Register device in the top right to open the “Register Device” dialog.
  2. Enter Serial Number (required; found on the back of the device).
  3. Enter Label (required; a friendly name to identify this device, e.g. “Front Desk” or “Checkout 1”).
  4. Select Device Type (required).
  5. Select Assign to Location (required; assigns the device to a location).
  6. Click Register to submit; missing required fields trigger “Please fill in all required fields,” and success shows “Device registered successfully.” Click Cancel to discard.
Export: click Export in the toolbar to download the device list as CSV; check one or more rows, then click Export selected on the blue bulk-action bar to export only the selected devices.

Fields and statuses

List columns: Device status: Device Details panel:
  • Device Overview: Device ID, status (Online/Offline), Label, Type, Last Active, Location.
  • Hardware Information: Serial Number, Firmware Version (shown with an Up to date or Update available badge), IP Address. Serial Number and IP Address are both copyable.
  • Recent Transactions: the device’s recent transactions, each showing payment method, time, amount and currency, and transaction status; shows “No recent transactions” when there are none.
  • Activity Log: a timeline of the device’s connection and registration events. Online devices show “Last heartbeat” with a timestamp at the top; offline devices show “Disconnected” with a timestamp; shows “Device registered” or “No activity log available” when there is nothing further.
Firmware version badges:

Edge cases and troubleshooting

  • List shows “No devices yet”: the account has no devices yet; the hint reads “Devices will appear here once activity begins.” Click Register device in the top right to add one.
  • “No devices match your filters”: the current status/location/type/search filter has no matches; the hint reads “Try adjusting your filter criteria.” Click Clear filters or Clear all and try again.
  • Clicking “Register” does nothing / shows “Please fill in all required fields”: Serial Number, Label, Device Type, and Assign to Location are all required — any missing field is flagged and highlighted.
  • Registration fails with “Failed to register device”: the submission was rejected by the server; check whether the serial number is correct or already registered, then retry or contact support.
  • Device shows “Offline”: the device is currently not connected to the system — check its power and network connection; the Last Active column shows when it was last online.
  • Firmware shows “Update available”: a newer firmware version exists; this page only shows firmware status — for an upgrade, follow the device’s instructions or contact support.
  • Want to copy Device ID / Serial Number / IP: both the list and the detail panel have a copy button next to these fields.
