# Applicable Time Periods for Cancellation of Transactions, Pre-Auth, and Refunds

> Key timeframes for cancelling transactions, reversing pre-authorizations, and processing refunds.

The following timeframes establish the operational limits for cancelling, reversing, or obtaining refunds on payments.

| Action                              | Timeframe                                                     |
| ----------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Transaction / pre-auth cancellation | Before 23:00 on the day of transaction or pre-auth completion |
| Pre-authorization reversal          | Within 30 days after pre-authorization                        |
| Refund processing                   | Within 179 days after the transaction                         |
