# Payment Links (Acquiring)

> The merchant dashboard Payment > Payment Links page — view and manage all your payment links, filter by status/name/URL/expiry, and copy/share, generate a QR code, edit, rename, deactivate/activate, and export individual links; create a new link from the standalone Create Link flow in the top right.

## What this is

This is the **Payment Links** page under the **Payments** module in the merchant dashboard (page title "Payment links", subtitle "Create and manage payment links"). A payment link is a shareable receiving link — customers pay by opening it, without you having to build your own checkout. Here you view every payment link on your account, filter by status, name/URL, or expiry, and copy/share, generate a payment QR code, edit, rename, deactivate/activate, and export each link. Use this page whenever you want to create a new receiving link, find a specific link, send a link to a customer, or deactivate one you no longer need.

## Steps

Open the list: in the left nav go to **Payments**, then open **Payment Links**. The list shows all payment links on your account by default.

Create a new link: click **Create link** in the top right to open the standalone create flow and follow the wizard (choose link type → amount/currency → name, and so on → generate). Without the relevant permission, you won't see the **Create link** button.

Filter and search:

1. **Active until** date picker: pick a date to see only links still active (not expired) as of that date.
2. **Status** filter: check one or more statuses (Active / Expired / Inactive) — multi-select supported.
3. **Search**: search by name or URL (placeholder "Search by name, URL...").
4. Active filters appear as tags under **Filtered by**; click the **x** on a tag to remove it, or click **Clear all** to reset everything.

Share/manage a single link (via the **...** menu at the end of a row, or click the link name to open the detail panel):

1. **Copy link**: copies the receiving link to your clipboard so you can send it to a customer directly.
2. **View details**: opens the detail panel on the right, where you can copy the link, click **Open** to preview it in a new window, or click **QR** to generate a payment QR code (copyable or downloadable as an image).
3. **Rename**: changes only the link's name.
4. **Edit**: change the amount, currency, name, description, image, internal reference, expiry, and more (only **Active** links can be edited).
5. **Deactivate** / **Activate**: once deactivated, customers can no longer pay through that link; a deactivated link can be reactivated. Expired links cannot be reactivated.

Export: click **Export** in the toolbar to export payment links (within the current filter) as a CSV file; a "Export completed" prompt appears when done.

## Fields and statuses

**List columns:**

| Column | Meaning (merchant view) | Notes |

| Status | The link's current status, see below | |
| URL | The receiving link address, with an inline copy button | |
| Payments | The number of completed payments through this link (shows "—" if none) | |
| Created | The date and time the link was created | |

**Link status:**

| Status | Meaning |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Active | The link works normally and customers can pay |
| Inactive | The link has been deactivated; customers can't currently pay (it can be reactivated) |
| Expired | The link is past its expiry date, can no longer collect payment, and cannot be reactivated |
| Paid | The payment tied to this link has been completed |

> The status filter offers three options: Active / Expired / Inactive. The list's Status column shows English labels (Active / Inactive / Expired / Paid); the detail panel and filters show the same meaning.

**Link type (visible in detail/edit):**

| Type | Meaning |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Fixed amount | You've pre-set the amount to collect; the customer pays that amount |
| Customer enters amount | The customer enters the amount to pay themselves; you can set a minimum/maximum range |

**Editable fields**: amount or minimum/maximum amount, currency, limit payments (once enabled, set the total number of payments), name (up to 250 characters), description (optional, visible to the customer), image (optional, JPEG/JPG/PNG), internal reference (optional, visible only to you, for reconciliation), active until (optional). Link type and currency cannot be changed once created.

## Edge cases and troubleshooting

* **List shows "No payment links yet"**: the account doesn't have any payment links yet; the hint reads "Payment links will appear here once activity begins." Click **Create link** in the top right to create one.
* **Filtered list shows "No payment links match your filters"**: nothing matches the current filters, with the hint "Try adjusting your filter criteria." — click **Clear filters** or **Clear all** and try again.
* **You don't see the "Create link" button**: this usually means you lack permission to create payment links — ask an admin to grant it.
* **You want to deactivate a link**: choose **Deactivate** from that link's **...** menu and confirm in the dialog — the customer can no longer pay through it; select **Activate** in the same place later to restore it.
* **Can't find where to deactivate/activate**: the detail panel only shows "Rename/Edit/Deactivate" for **Active** links, and shows "Activate" for non-active links.
* **Clicking Activate on an expired link does nothing / shows it can't be activated**: expired links cannot be reactivated (the prompt reads "Expired links cannot be reactivated") — create a new link instead.
* **You only want to change the name**: use **Rename**, which only changes the name and leaves the link address and amount untouched; use **Edit** to change the amount or other details.
* **Which links get exported?** The export uses the current status and expiry filters, not the search keyword.

## Common questions (Q\&A)

* **Q: Where do I see payment links / how do I manage my receiving links?** A: Left nav **Payments** → **Payment Links** — the list is every link on your account, filterable, copyable, editable, and can be deactivated.
* **Q: How do I create a new receiving link?** A: On the Payment Links page, click **Create link** in the top right to open the create flow, then choose a type, fill in the amount and name in the wizard, and generate.
* **Q: How do I send the link to a customer?** A: Click **Copy link** in that link's **...** menu, or open **View details** and click **Copy link** there, then send the address to your customer.
* **Q: Can I generate a receiving QR code?** A: Yes. Open the link's detail panel and click **QR** to display a payment QR code, which you can copy or download as an image.
* **Q: What statuses can a payment link have, and what do they mean?** A: Active (working normally), Inactive (deactivated, can't currently be paid), Expired (past its expiry date, can't collect payment or be reactivated), and Paid (the payment has been completed).
* **Q: How do I deactivate a link? Can I bring it back?** A: Choose **Deactivate** from that link's **...** menu and confirm; you can restore it later by choosing **Activate** in the same place — but expired links can't be reactivated.
* **Q: The link expired — what do I do?** A: An expired link can't be reactivated; you'll need to create a new payment link.
* **Q: I just want to rename a link without touching the amount — how?** A: Use **Rename**, which changes only the name and doesn't affect the link or amount; use **Edit** to change the amount.
* **Q: Why can't I change the amount/currency when editing a link?** A: Only **Active** links can be edited, and link type and currency can't be changed once created; recreate the link if you need a different type or currency.
* **Q: What do "Customer enters amount" and "Any amount" mean?** A: "Customer enters amount" means the link lets the customer type in their own payment amount (optionally within a minimum/maximum); "Any amount" means no fixed amount was set.
* **Q: What's the "Payments" column?** A: The number of payments already completed through that link.
* **Q: Can customers see "Internal Reference"?** A: No — internal reference is visible only to your own account, for your own reconciliation; "Description" is the field visible to customers.
* **Q: How do I export payment links?** A: Click **Export** in the toolbar to export the current status/expiry-filtered list as a CSV file.
* **Q: How do I see only links that haven't expired yet?** A: Use **Active until** in the toolbar to pick a date; only links still active as of that date are shown.
